The lake is angry tonight
she is dark and broody and deep
torrents of rain cascade from heaven
and crash upon her waves
unwelcome they pierce her
harshly they pelt her
she rumbles, she roars
she shivers she breaks
at times so peaceful
so still, so calm
now shattering like glass
dangerous and wild
waters once loved
in the quiet of the sun
are feared and rejected
when the storms begin to rage
so she rages back
and I understand
for I think I’m just like her
i’m like the lake.
