that makes me embrace it

for hope
and for the despair
that makes me chase it

thankful
for loneliness
for it helps me treasure friendship
thankful
for my weakness
for it leads me to redemption

for joy
and sadness and pain
there’s no life
without death
no sun
without rain

without the ability to be blind
there would be no need for sight
without walking in the darkness
we wouldn’t know the light

so I’m grateful for valleys
and caves
and pools
in every season
every place
I can be
