the sidewalk is scattered in cherry tree blossoms
lovely, and gentle, they gracefully fall
the magnolias bloom a bashful blush pink
the crabapples flame in a sunset rose
caught up in the scent of the dogwoods and plum trees
i wander and wonder which one is like you
fiery or gentle
bashful or brave
bold or demure
flighty or still
soon I will meet you
soon you will grow
this year the blossoms welcome you
next year, you’ll welcome them
poems.
