3 years. 8 months. 19 days.
But not a second too long.
For I would have waited a lifetime for you,
my once in a lifetime love.
By the river with the sweetest
tears I’ve ever seen
dancing down your cheeks,
you asked me.
And I said yes.
On the rocks where I first told you
about the love inside my heart,
with trembling hands, and a heart so afraid,
I trembled again, for joy.
And I’ll keep saying yes, forever and always.
And I’ll keep trembling hard,
with all the happiness in my soul.
For you were my first love.
You are my forever love.
You are my never-ending poem and the one sun in my sky.

You are Gods kindness to me, his protection and his grace.
A rock of pure gold in a mine full of clay.
How beautiful that someone like you exists.
How beautiful someone like you chose me.

If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m engaged! And so, so happy.
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy!”
-Psalm 126:3

For all of those still waiting to meet your future spouse, or even go on a date or have your feelings be reciprocated, I promise you- love is real. And it is worth the wait. Don’t settle. Don’t doubt. Don’t lower your standards. Keep praying. Keep hoping. Keep cultivating the characteristics in yourself that you hope to find in another person. Practice contentment. And let God surprise you with his grace.

For he is the author of love, the creator of relationships and the designer of marriage. He makes everything beautiful in it’s time. Delight yourself in him and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Thank you, Father. A million times.
