I lift my head above the trees
the sun holds my face
between her hands
i feel alive again
the boots on my feet
sink into the ground
no longer frozen
but soft, squishy, malleable
the pelting raindrops
melt the snow
and cleanse a world
that’s been brown for too long
and the birds sing their anthem
like a balm to my heart
i don’t know the words
but it sounds like hope
everything, returning
everything, restoring
everything, rejoicing
maybe so can i
Never really thought how a bird has its own anthem! It never really sings anything outside of what God gave it. Maybe I should be content to sing the anthem God gave me
Maybe I should be content to sing the anthem God have me. Yes.
