rise to greet the morning,
step out into the sun
stretch your arms up to the heavens
there is grace for everyone

see the grass and flowers blossom
as the rain comes pouring down
don your boots and jump in the puddles
for by darkness and storm we abound

stop and listen to the goldfinch
the swallows, the robins, the wrens
each born with a song from their maker
join a chorus that never ends

gather the wildflowers,
thank God for each new day
for soon he is coming back,
and all shall pass away

  1. For by darkness and storm we abound, so don your boots and jump in the puddles! So true. Seems like the greatest triumphs are when we embrace the providence of the moment. The dark, cloudy, rainy, cold days are not always the worst as long as your armored up for it – Thanks
